The 2020 Jeju Blockchain Hackathon was co-hosted by Jeju Center, Ground X, Samsung Electronics, and Kakao. In this hackathon, participants implemented blockchain business models using “KAS (Klaytn API Service),” a BaaS (Blockchain-as-a-Service) direction API service developed by Kakao’s blockchain technology affiliate GroundX.

2020 Jeju Blockchain Hackathon opened a small business camp after the first online camp operation due to changes in the Korona-19 situation. After recruiting participants through September 13, 18 teams (54 people) were selected to participate in the online camp. The final six teams were selected to participate in the business camp through the online camp.

The online camp used the online video conferencing platform Zoom from September 18 (Friday) to 20 (Sunday), and during the operation period, participants also helped smooth development work, including blockchain service use, through AMA sessions and QnA sessions.

It is explaining the DOIT project.

The final six teams selected through the online camp participated in the business camp at the innovative start-up hub W360 from the 23rd (Friday) to the 25th (Sunday).

The business camp provided a curriculum leading to business modeling workshops, lectures, and pitch deck 1:1 coaching workshops to help participants improve their skills in storytelling when presenting business models so that they could make a complete presentation.

As a result of the operation of the business camp, the first team (1st place), the second team (2nd and 3rd place), and the first team (4th place) were selected through the screening process. The final review further evaluated the competence and willingness of the representative to start a business, team composition and competence, and execution ability of the business model as the main items.

DOIT’s TERRY CEO, who announced a marketing platform for certification shots using blockchain, received the Excellence Award.

Jeon Jung-hwan, head of the center, said, “The blockchain hackathon, which has its own KAS (Klaytn API Service), and Samsung Electronics, which owns Kakao and Samsung Blockchain Service SDK, joined this year.”
